Considered a reference recording for European punk, "Anti Todo" (1985) has been out of print for years due to legal issues between the band and their old record company, finally we've been able to recover the original masters, that have been re-worked by Xavi Navarro. Also the original artworkand liner notes by Pablo Cabeza, with lyrics and pictures. One of the main pillars to understand Spanish punk along with Spanish society at that time.

This CD has the mission to gather their first two EPs "La invasión de los ultracuerpos" (BCore/Cydonia, 09) and "Cuaresma" (BCore/Cydonia, 10), and put them together as a culmination of these intense two years of music. And, of course, features even more new tunes, some interesting covers, remixes and collaborations that will be only featured on this CD.

Born in 1984, they quickly showed their differences with other bands of their generation, as they improved the complexity of music and the philosophical-literary value of their lyrics, far from the typical political slogans of the other punk bands, but far more introspective and humanistic. This LP contains, for the first time in vinyl, their debut tape "GRB" (Drama del Horror, 1985) and their vinyl EP "¡Estoy tan contento!" (self-released, 1986).

Not so many drummers can have the sense of order, dynamics, detail and ferocity at the same time as Marcos has. And that perfectly technical and soaring bass as played by Pablo. And the schizoid guitar playing and visceral singing of Jose, that make the whole a combination of musical smartness and attitude dirtiness. A totally modern way to approach to rock and roll.

Her guitar and voice are leading now the new compositions and Maria changes moniker to her full name Maria Rodes, joining forces with producer Ricky Falkner as a confident partner. Her singing is like a gentle whisper, straight to your ears, travellling from your ear to your nervous system like a sweet and mischievous tranquilizer, seducing without cheesy sensuality, with a tender and magnetic discretion, like a voice that tells a fairy tale without a happy ending, uncomplaining and serene behind the torment of her inner demons. This new album features again the values of the '60s music: imagination, freedom, beauty, love and experimentation. But we are in the 21st century, and even though their influences and taste is crystal clear, you won't find here any revival, nor pop, rock or folk mimesis. Joan Colomo gives a revolutionary twist to the Spanish and Catalan songwritting. Following the steps of artists like Akron family, the label Anticon and their creative freedom, printing the personality of Standstill's guitar trademark that he created, combining landscapes of ethereal atmosphere with hip-hop bases, bright acoustic guitars and all kinds of percussions, Elvira builds his musical universe through this debut self-production. Featuring his bandmate in Standstill, Ricky Lavado, on some drums, or Marco Fonktana (MC of Aerolíneas Subterraneas), and Víctor Valiente (also in Standstill) helping in the mix.

A true blow of fresh air by these three girls who came to remind us about the primary spirit of rock and roll: fun, simplicity, attitude. Tokyo Sex Destruction's last album is, without a doubt, the most diverse, creativelly complete and mature up to date. Songs like "L.U.V. is the feeling", "Good morning" or "Tonite" show us a side of the band never shown before, with psychedelic parts and smooth beats that will gently surprise both all-time fans and the ones that unwisely accused the band of repetition.

Time for joking is over. Most of the bands which started playing some years ago are still active and playing music in a similar line. Because, as Pupille can prove, it's a question of pure music. When you don't have to build a song from the vocals there's a whole universe of infinite possibilities to explore, and that's what Pupille music is: freedom to explore and ability to transport you through their swamp of sound.

The big enemy of experimental and instrumental music is the risk of tediousness which can provoke speculation abuse and excessive duration. For this reason The Linn Youki Project has seduced us, beyond their exceptional songwriting and playing skills, for their extraordinary sense of synthesis. 14 tracks which are played in less than 30 minutes in which they show up their amazing resources and ability to find the essence, the minimal skeleton of rock music and dress it up with imaginative and surprising clothes.

This compilation resumes the most outstanding songs of BCore's recent catalog including many of the bands remarked as Best of 2004 by the music press (Standstill, The Unfinished Sympathy, Madee, Delorean, Nisei...).

Recorded in Chicago in may '04, at Engine studios (where Santi, No More Lies' singer was working for several months), brings us the band at its punkiest. Still with those sharp guitar riffs like in their previous album «][« but this time with higher tempos and more backup vocals which lead its sound into the depths of classical punkrock. Advance EP from the album “Rock for food”, contains the indie-rock/dance hit "This living kills" plus previousliy unreleased material such as Undertones' “Teenage kicks” cover (recorded for John Peel as it is the first spanish band ever to be invited by John Peel to record two Peel sessions, in 2001 and 2003), exclusive track “Peñaflor” plus live track “Prayers for time”.

Their debut album leads us to the best moments of bands like Hoover, June of 44 or Smart Went Crazy. Their dense atmospheres, the personal voice of Christian along with his hiper active guitar, the milimetric dissonances of Edu's bass and the restless syncope of Alfons' drumming make of this proposal one of the richest and more attractive at this moment.

A whole compendium of rock 'n roll, soul, psychodelia and punk energy in the album that confirms Tokyo Sex Destruction as a great band that moves comfortabily both in rock purists' cricles and in hardcore-punk scene, and basically everywhere where sincere, direct and honest music is valuable. After three long plays and two EPs sung in english, Standstill decided to use spanish in lyrics. And, without almost noticing, they created something absolutely new, never heard before in spanish rock history. "Standstill" is their most mature, complex and deep album, as all instruments, including vocals, dance together in a web of sounds that create a very peculiar and organic approach to modern rock, beyond punk, beyond post-rock, beyond pop. Dark, moody and extremely inspired, Standstill have truly invented something that will suck you into a spiral you will never want to quit.

Some of the members of It's Not Not also play with bands like Standstill or Tokyo Sex Destruction, though it would be a mistake finding matches between their sound and the one of their other projects. From the depths of Barcelona comes Nueva Vulcano: a rock band without grants, without tricks and without arrays. Formed by Artur (ex-Aina), Wences (ex-Shanty Rd.) and Albert (The Moon Men), they offer us a debut to sit and listen to carefully, to let oneself be shoved by its desperate and anxious atmosphere, where lyrics (in spanish) have a huge weight.

They came into BCore through the main door; one of the most important bands of spanish melodic hardcore, and the most veteran in active. We gave them a warm welcome and they corresponded recording a mighty album with all of their soul, and that has nothing to do with melodic hardcore. Rageful songs, sticky and full of lyrical contents, closer than ever to Shades Apart, Moving Targets or Farside but never forgetting the mighty Descendents.

After their demo, their great debut «Toaster» (Outline recs.) and their split with Amphetamine Eaters they saw how Gerard was quitting the band to Join Maple and the band stood in a dead point that luckyly they survived. And best thing is that, as we expected, they did it recording such a magnificent record like this. Songs like «Gear wheel» or «Drowning in you» (featuring Maple¹s singer Laura), will make your skin crawl. The band split up shortly after this.

Listening to them is like listening to The Byrds' impossible new album, like updating Bob Dylan's sensibility or like having a brand new modern "Pet Sounds". A big book of harmony and melody for the lovers of pure pop music, close to the warmth of Love and The Beach Boys vocal harmonies and always under the eternal Beatles influence. The guys from Pamplona have just become the most veteran band of our float in terms of discography. This is the fourth long-play of a band that hasn¹t stopped delighting us with their special sensibility since they were born as a band. And we must say this is the best record they¹ve put out to date, though their previous «New ad ideas» was a true little wonder. The Posies, Sugar, Superchunk and Hüsker dü would love to have a record like this in their discography.

Aina's last three songs ever: the rocking "International event", the intimist "Catalina" and two versions (normal and jingle) of the song "Cat & Dog", specially composed for a TV series soundtrack. This is the last material which the band delighted us with, showing a band controlling perfectly their sound and savoir faire. The final treasure of an impressing career. The band's singer Artur would follow his way at the front of Nueva Vulcano.

Explicit title: the session that Aina recorded at the BBC studios for John Peel's program. Two tracks from their last album, "Bipartite" and "Two questions", one from their previous album ("Aina", 99) ("Ice"), one from the sessions of "Sevens" (96) ("Spring") and a cover of the AC/DC classic "You shook me all night long".

If in "Songs from Cydonia" there was a swiss-precision jewelry work to make eleven precious and smooth songs, "Secret chamber" represents a turn into more abrupt, angular and rock sound. A monumental rock album, mature and intense, full of details and with a touch of complexity that proves the inmense class of these six musicians.

The extraordinary ability of re-invention showed by Zeidun becomes clearer than ever in this album, nothing to do with the fresh emo-pop that we would expect from them after "001" and "Oceane". This is far more complex, experimental and personal. Close to what we could call "indie-punk surrealism", "La Nausée" is a profound work, complex but still fresh and spontaneous. The talent of these five genious far out of doubt.

The masterpiece of the already disappeared Maple was, without a doubt, this album. Laura's vocals, passionate and sensual as never, played with the almost-minimalistic guitars by Edgar and Gerard (ex-Happy Meals) over the warm and imaginative rythm base by Christian's bass and Dani's drumming. Songs like caresses in your ears, from the simplicity of "Once I found you" to the euphoria of "On the bright side".

Since 2001, the video production by BCore bands was quickly increasing. Each day more young film makers decided to work with the bands to shoot videos, with a promotional function sometimes and an artistic intention in others. All of them were gathered in this DVD, reference number 100 of the label, along with curiosities and extras that make this issue a really interesting document.

Second release by the band, this time as an EP as a follower of their debut-album sound. This record opened definetively the doors of Europe, being released in Germany by Trans-Solar Records (Monochrome). With a political discurse every day more defined and their songs every day more solid, the band kept winning addicts wherever they would play live.

The second album by the band represented a huge move forward, leaving behind the post-hardcore/emo-rock standards to let much wider influences flow, from the post-punk of "Glowbug" to the psychobilly of "I killed her but that's not the point", passing through the college-rock of "Kid Rover" or the hard-rock of "Eviction notice", keeping always their personal sound. In the times of "Memories collector", Standstill searched for new sounds all the time, new instruments, new tools to experiment and perfect their own style. And we could hear that on that record, but even more in this EP, consequence of some gigs in which the band re-interpretated its own music with all kind of wind and percussion instruments over an acoustic guitar base.

If "Rockin' together" is a collection of rarities, "19 fabulous hits" is a collection of hits, of memorable songs written by the label's bands between 2001 and 2002. Fourth release by Cobolt after two full lengths for Ampersand Recs. and an EP for BCore. Features former Refused bass player on vocals and guitar, and their soft, smooth, velveteen sound reminds of Seam or Codeine but with a sweeter and warmer feel.

"A beat back the silence" is a the perfect mixture of hardcore and rock and roll. Someone once said Entombed created "death & roll", and Getreal put that spirit together with the swedish bands inheritance (Abhinanda, Nine). Greasy and rusty like an engine driven by Motörhead but fueled with modern hardcore. No additives but in-your-face rockin' hardcore.

The record that put an end to the expectation of five years of discographic silence, after "Five missils in orbit" and the single "Maider", they achieved perfectly the goal of showing a mature, elegant and sophisticated band, with impressing individual perfromances and a powerful block sound, very influenced by Washington DC sound, unpredictable and brilliant. It became, at the same time, their goodbye. Singer/guitarist Wences Aparicio woul later join Nueva Vulcano.

Tokyo Sex Destruction caused a real revolution in the spanish media, never-before that interested in BCore bands. The reason, a band with clear ideas, specialized in a genre that they control perfectly like garage-punk with soul attitude, in a moment when press and audience received them with open arms.

The band's masterpiece from their anglophone era was a real lesson of musical quality with no additives. Able to sound raw sometimes, epic others, delicate here and angry there, "Memories collector" represented a rush of emotions, under control or on the runaway, with infinity of details, an elegant sound and a unique poetical discurse. Since the times of Corn Flakes there hadn't been such a young band with such a worked and mature approach to hardcore. With brilliant Victor Garcia on drums (furtherly on Nantucket and Manhunt), the vocal aggressivity of Musclu and the textures of Gerard (guitar) and Sicko (bass), they went from new-school hardcore to the density of Cave In or Shiner in a totally natural and consequent way.

After their debut EP, Oswego recorded this full-length at Inner Ear Studios with Jay Robbins. Their unique sound, this kind of slow rock both influenced by DC post-hardcore and acts like The Police crossed the Atlantic Ocean to be released by BCore, which was at the end their only label worldwide. Fine humour in the title tracks and lyrics and moody sounds by ex members of Kerosene 454 and The Most Secret Method.

After years playing together, Madee decided to work hard and prove once and for all what they were able to do. And they did it, without a doubt, in this wonderful debut, born at the same time that their own label, Cydonia Records, co-releasing this album. The pop with a noise background and emo touch that showed in their songs gave pearls like "Impulsor", "The asteroid is falling" or "Sparrow".

Not less than 5 years after their debut, the trio from Sant Feliu de Guíxols went back to the front with this mighty "][", a really impressing discharge of elaborated punk, modern and smart, with Santi Garcia everyday more into the production world and the always extremely tight rythm base by Maxim and Roger. A huge out-of-time album.

First Standstill recording (after "Progress self-destruction" demo), released in 1997 by Heart in Hand (Madrid) and DIY Product (Badalona), was re-issued in 2002 by BCore, keeping the original artwork and tracklist. In its seven tracks, including classics like "The Bridge", we can listen to the early Standstill with an aggressive sound and landscapist sensibility, blueprint that they would later perfect on "The Ionic Spell".

With this, their last long-play before their dissollution, Aina could achieve what they had always wanted: recording at Washington DC Inner Ears Studio with Jay Robbins, and finding the perfect balance between the strong and every day stronger AC/DC guitar influence with the rythmic complexity of Dischord bands and the melancholic sensibility of Superchunk's indie or Jawbreaker's punk.

After "So called..." and their official debut "Paint red" through Underhill records (Edu's -HFO drummer- label), this time was BCore who put out "New ad ideas", third record from the Pamplona band, with the best songs and best sound to date. The rythmic power combined with the melodic richness makes this record a true classic for the lovers of indie rock with a post-hardcore twist.

After their debuts, "Rebecca believes" by Maple through Underhill Records and "001" by Zeidun for BCore/Ozono Kids, both bands (friends since their touring together around Spain) united their new songs in this split. With classics like Maple's "Bitter smell" or Zeidun's "Swallowing existance", both bands made themselves more known than ever, achieving the first currency line and being able to tour Europe.

The debut EP of The Crystal Committee shows Starmarket's singer Fredrik Brändström at his most pop but also folky side. Also with members of Randy, these first 5 songs combine pop melodies with a light folky-acoustic atmosphere.

There was a long time ago since new interesting bands were born in Barcelona, and in that sense the debut album of The Unfinished Sympathy was a true surprise. So much that John Peel himself invited them to record a Peel session at the BBC after listening to songs like "Convinced lamarckist". In a point between post-hardcore/emo tradition and rock in a wide sense of the word, they started a great career since this moment.

Standstill had been already playing for 5 years and had a mini CD released ("The Tide") when they contacted BCore for the release of their first long-play, with stable line-up. And that record, "The Ionic Spell", became one of the most pronounced turning points, not only in the band's career but in BCore's. The richness of textures and ideas in such a spectacular-sounding album was a real discovery. ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2001 BY MONDO SONORO AND ROCK SOUND MAGAZINES

All those vinyl singles released between 1998 and 2000, mainly with foreign bands' songs, were compiled and remastered for this CD, that finally became a hit compilation by its own. With jewels like the unreleased tracks by June of 44, The Dismemberment Plan, Aina or Juno, this collection is still highly reccommendable today.

The young band Zeidun surprised us with their debut album. 6 happy-sad songs strongly influenced by bands such as The Get Up Kids, Starmarket, Leiah or Saidiwas, that were the first step of this 5 hiper-active guys from Sant Celoni, (Barcelona).

Before their debut LP, the band released these four songs, also exclusively for BCore Disc. Featuring ex-members of Kerosene 454 and The Most Secret Method, the band showed their particular sense of humour in title-tracks and lyrics and also a beautiful smooth but angular sound.

Since their first gig in June '92 until the last one in June '94, they were able to influence a whole new generation of bands from the hardcore/straight edge circle. This anthology includes their first demo, their singles and their CD (released only in Germany by Amok Records). Booklet includes lyrics, pictures, band info, etc., and all the audio material is remastered by Xavi Navarro.

Another split, this time by two american bands, both on Desoto Records (Jawbox's Kim Coletta label) in the USA. And we must say, with two of their best songs: the schizofrenic "Gets rich" by The Dismemberment Plan and the deep "Non-equivalents" by Juno. The single that put an end to the singles collection that would be furtherly gathered together on the "Bcore Disc Sevens 1998-2000" CD.

Band from Umea, Sweden. After three 7"s and an album ("Let me woory some more") on First Time records in USA, and with the addition of Magnus Oberg (former member of Starmarket), Kevlar music takes a new turn in songwriting, with unusual chord progressions, risky harmonies and sonic atmospheres. As a result, "The deadly dozen" is a collection of complex but great songs that take their time to conquer your heart.

The singles collection kept on offering wonderful records like this split between the amercians Bluetip (later Retisonic) and NRA from Holland (still in active). Bluetip put the unreleased "New shoe premonition" (and artwork by Jason Farrell), and NRA the also exclusive "Adult" and "Atg".

Second album of this Barcelona based band. Eleven killer tracks in the vein of best American grind and hardcore bands such as Infest, Monster X, Spazz or Assuck. Included a cover of "Dance Floor Justice" from Project X. An album that proved the huge power of the quartet, getting good reviews from overseas before they split up.

With artwork by Jason Farrell (Bluetip) this is a compilation cellebrating the first 10 years of BCore disc, featuring spanish bands like Aina and No More Lies and also foreign bands like The Letter E (ex-June of 44) and Cobolt (ex-Refused).

Sean Meadows (June of 44) followed-up his prolific career spite of the band's dissolution. Nowadays with Lungfish and previously with Red House Blues, The Letter E was his first project after June of 44, starting with these four songs exclusively for Europe through BCore, more cinematographic and ethereal than his previous project.

The friendship between Aina and The Dusters made them tour together several times, and to cellebrate it we released this single along with the Washington DC-based label Superbad (property of The Dusters' Alec Bourgeois and distributed by Dischord), with the fresh and catchy "Reason" by the americans and, for many, the best Aina song ever: "Luton can wait".

After two LPs on Ampersand Records, Cobolt recorded these five tracks exclusively for BCore Disc, which with time have become some of their best classics. Smooth slowcore close to Seam or Codeine with enormous sensuality and ellegance.

After Fireside and Kepone, the seven-inches collection followed-up with the already well-known June Of 44 and two exclusive songs for BCore: the unreleased "Southeast of Boston" and the live take of "Dexterity of luck" from their previous long-play. With ex-members of Hoover, Codeine, Crownhate Ruin or Rex, the quality was guaranteed.

Dies Irae had a short but intense career, like their dramatic, extremely epic emocore inspired in classic emo bands such as Still Life, Serene, Merel or Rites of Spring. Several years later, singer Joel Rojas formed current and successful post-punk band It’s not not along with members of Standstill and Tokyo Sex Destruction.

Their true debut album ("Sevens" was a singles compilation) will pass to history as one of the best albums ever released by BCore. Recorded in France by Fred Norguet (Burning heads, Sixpack,...), it was done in a unique moment of creativity and sensibility, with a personal sound, like velvet covering a strong and rageful muscle and absolutelly brilliant songs like "Mnemotechnics" or "Dark Black Night".

Compilation featuring all of the bands in the label around 1998, including unreleased tracks, and divided in two parts: hardcore (aggressive, both old school and new school) and melodic (emo and post-hardcore). The first of the series with a serial number, as two first record collections were simply promo samplers.

After their appearance on the "Five missiles in orbit" compilation CD, Slang stroke back with their first and lonely release "The day the sun shoine cold". Leaving behind their Aina, Jawbreaker or Samiam influences, they evolved into a more matured sound close to DC bands or comrades Shanty Rd. The extraordinary vocals and the beautiful but complex melodies made Slang's debut a masterpiece.

Repress of the two of the most important hardcore bands' demos in the 90's. On one hand Shorebreak with their demo "Broken lives" representing the straight edge and new school movement. On the other Hopeful from Sant Feliu Guixols with their demo "Foundation stone" hitting with their powerful old to new school sound.

Schedule was the side project of Standstill’s singer, Enric Montefusco, at their very beginning. A strongly political band, they based their lyrics in Straight Edge culture and helped Barcelona hardcore political scene to survive the passing fashions.

Following the line started by the previous release (Fireside), this time were the americans Kepone who offered two of their songs in exclusive for BCore, "Conjure man" and "Fire in the double wide", for this 7", aside from their records for Touch & Go, Alternative Tentacles or Quarterstick. Excellent punk-rock with a post-hardcore twist like Shellac or Pegboy.

After several records only released as CD, BCore went back to the vinyl single, starting a period when international bands' seven-inches where up to date. The first, this one by the swedish Fireside, with a mighty track from their album "Uomini d'Onore" and the unreleased "Silver muscle car". Extraordinary post-hardcore between Drive like Jehu and Quicksand.

Sowplot was the band which put classic hardcore back in the main pages of magazines in a time when emo, indie or post-hardcore was the fashion. Featuring Xavi Navarro (producer, ex-Painbox and currently member of The Unfinished Sympathy), it represented one of the best “stop and go hardcore” spanish records of all time.

Second album for this great band. The perfect mix between old school like Gorilla Biscuits and the most innovative new school sound in the vein of bands like Refused or early Abhinanda. 12 tracks with lyrics dealing with misery, education and violence from a personal point of view. One of the best productions by Xavi Navarro ever, who openmouthed us with the incredible and powerful sound of this recording.

After Passion Fish and Virtual Noise, this was the thrid band that came to the label from the Costa Brava area; and they came to stay, as they're still active nowadays. Their debut was one of the biggest surprises lived by the label, as it showed a power-trio that was able to sound more powerful than any other band, with a dense, psychotic and melodic post-hardcore at the same time, between the DC-sound and Quicksand or Helmet.

Compilation of five bands with different styles but a similar approach to indie/post-hardcore: Shanty Rd., more experimental and complex, Slang, close to Jawbox and Aina, Three fingers and their crazy structures and Young Ones plus ODG who add the melodic/emo touch.

"Divine" was the first full lenght album of Fromheadtotoe and their best without a doubt. Their melodic indie rock got better and better with every recording. After their surprising debut "Insight" and the single "Bomb", "Divine", a 12 song album full of incredible tunes from start to end, is the culmination of their work. Later on they released a couple of albums more through Subterfuge Records.

"Bomb" is the single taken from their first full lenght album "Divine". A beautiful melodic song with ironic lyrics. Included one unreleased track from the "Divine" recording sessions ("Pragmatic") and three acoustic versions of songs from their debut "Insight".

First recording from the most devastating band from Barcelona. 20 tracks in less than 15 minutes. Reminiscent of the spanish HC classic 24 Ideas and 80's American hardcore of bands such as Infest, Go!, Ripcord, Dropdead, Siege or Capitalist Casualties. Probably the fastest and most extreme hardcore ever out of Spain.

Three years after the band's split-up, BCore released this 7" single with unreleased tracks, live tracks and covers (Negative Approach, 7 seconds, Youth of Today). Years later it was included in the "Discografía completa" CD together with the rest of the band's recordings. A postumous record that cellebrates a short but intense and influential career.

Minor Threat is the most important hardcore band of all time, and so in 1997 all BCore bands and most of renouned spanish punk/hardcore bands recorded these covers from the DC legend, including Aina, Negu Gorriak, Cerebros Exprimidos, All Ill, Corn Flakes, etc.

This single was taken off their last album “Menage”, and shows the band at its best moment of creativity. Recorded by Peter Eichenberg at El Laboratori, Barcelona. Co-released with RCA records, includes a Black Flag cover and two unreleased tracks.

Corn Flakes was, for several years, the biggest BCore band and the most influential for further generations. Their talent to build perfect melodies shone through all their recordings, since 1990 to 1998 when they split up. This was their last album and the only to be co-released with major label RCA, featuring a fourth member on the second guitar.

This is the first Xmilk recording following their acclaimed demo "Personnal". After some line up changes, Xmilk went back stronger than ever. This band played full speed hardcore in the vein of bands such as Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today 24 Ideas or CIV. The solid production made this a blast.

The first long-play by Aina was, in fact, a seven-inch singles compilation: "Uptight" and the split with Rythm Collision plus a third single that was ready to be released and that finally only appeared on this CD. Four more songs and a hidden track made this record one of the most influential in the label's history.

After the demise of Childhood, Raquel and Rafa started a new band, more indie-rock oriented, but stuck to hardcore roots somehow, something now called post hardcore. "Insight" was their presentation, 6 songs with incredible vocals, solid structures, intense yet quite melodic. A mix between Echobelly and DC bands such as Fugazi.

There was also some noise-pop in the Barcelona scene in the nineties, represented by Ponyboys amongst others, with Monica on vocals who gave that melodic touch next to the danceable beats and noisy guitar layers, which put them closely to My Bloody Valentine o Sonic Youth.

After the departure of Raquel and Rafa, who would later form Fromheadtotoe, Marc Sora and Laia Vaqué took the ship's nelm with Marga and Jordi. The new songs were shorter, more fresh and easyer to catch than their previous stuff, getting close to pop as never before. This single was the final and farewell release.

After their debut demo "Polite evil pose" that led them to an important spanish magazine contest, this trio formed by ex-Aim singer and further Fromheadtotoe drummer, recorded four great songs of melodic punk-rock as their only release. You can remember them opening for Vodoo Glow Skulls in Barcelona in 1996. Singer Linus unfortunately died some years later.

The debut of a band that in 2003 split up after a splendid power-pop album, "Co-pilot", has nothing to do with the warmth of their last tunes, but a bunch of excellent melodic hardcore songs inspired in Epitaph sound. After this demo an album and a split would come through Outline Records, to end up in the same house that watched them grow up.

From Valencia, Wallride offered us their songs for this debut single, still with Rafeta on vocals before Laura came in. Hardcore in the right key to skate, fast, aggressive, fresh and melodic, like still today in their new releases, loyal to their musical and ideological principles.

Second release by Aina was this limited edition split single with americans Rhythm Collision, with a beautiful artwork on a paper envelope, that would be furtherly included with "Uptight" and other tracks in the CD "Sevens" by Aina.

t was a honour to release, yet in the band's last stage, these tracks by Shawn Stern's band, popular DIY punk activist in California and owner of the legendary BYO Records. The fact that the main song from the single was sung in spanish made this record a curiosity that classic hardcore-punk fans can't miss.

Madrid's scene has always been very interesting for a Barcelona-based label as BCore, and proof of that is, for example, the release of first Like Peter At Home album. Serious hardcore, deep, dramatic and tough, trademark of Madrid's bands at the time. A band that on live performances showed their impressing attitude and compromised lyrics.

After Painbox, Jordi Llansamà wanted to go back to his classic hardcore roots founding Aim, where beats were faster and more intense, far from the rythmic heavyness and density of his previous band and recovering the spirit of 24 ideas. Features two covers of Deep Wound and Straight ahead.

After their dirst demo and line-up changes, adding Elm Puig on bass guitar (future member of Hopeful and founder of the well-known Sant Feliu Hardcore Fest), they won a lot in songwriting and performing, following the line of their debut, which is melodic hardcore in the vein of Bad Religion.

Only two songs, one in each side, for this single. Easy to understand for they were into long songs, with extense developements and many ideas concentrated in every tune. Psychotic, dense, twisted and experimental, these tracks were heavy as Amphetamine Reptile bands' sound and dense as Girls VS Boys.

Many bands get smoother as long as they grow up, but that's not the case of Xmilk, who have been growing in strength and agressivity since their debut demo. These songs showed a band mainly influenced by the classic hardcore with a melodic touch of bands like 7 seconds and Ignite, but time turned the band into a new-school hardcore vein.

Pop and american rock joined together in the songs of these guys who, along with Ponyboys or Supersonics represented the indie side of BCore in the nineties. Nice melodies and a powerful guitar wall-of sound for these only songs the band released.

In the mid-nineties, bands started to mix melodic hardcore inheritance with grunge and indie rock, creating that peculiar sound which somehow linked to future emo bands. For fans of Screaming trees, Soundgarden, Alice in chains or Stone temple pilots who also have followed emo style in the future.

Nothing was ever the same in the Barcelona music scene since the irruption of this quartet. The ellegance, good taste and sensibility that flowed from songs like "Uptight" or the song that gave a name to their label mates ("From head to toe") meant the beggining of a brilliant career.

After the split up of legendary hardcore band 24 ideas, Jordi Llansamà (also owner of BCore disc) joined with Xavi Navarro (producer and current member of The Unfinished Sympathy) to create this band, mainly influenced by Ampthetamine Reptile catalog bands such as Guzzard, Today is the day or Chokebore and others like Quicksand or Helmet.

After Passion Fish and before No More Lies, Virtual Noise not only were the second band from the Baix Empordà, exactly from Sant Feliu de Guíxols, to give signs of life, but a nest from which important bands' members (Hopeful and Nueva Vulcano) started to play. Excellent songs clearly influenced by Bad Religion.

Last reference with the original line-up and first on CD, with a couple of new tracks and two covers from Egg Hunt and Soulside. After this record, Raquel and Rafa left the band and fromed the acclaimed power-rock band Fromheadtotoe, while Marc and Laia stood in the band to later release a 7" single, to end up forming the currently active band Glissando*.

Third album is more pop oriented than "Childish"; a few songs could have easily appeared in their previous album, but you'll find some others with a more pop approach and catchy melodies close to bands like The Smiths. "Double bed" was a pleasant surprise that reached new people that became die hard fans.

Members of Corn Flakes created this one-release-only electronic pop band, far from the guitar wall of sound and focused on synths, inspired by New Order or Carter USM, in the first release ever by BCore to deal with this kind of music.

The Baix Empordà, area which includes the Costa Brava, gave signs of life (musically speaking, in the hardcore scene) since this demo. From Llagostera, Passion Fish showed the influence from the Epitaph and Lookout! bands in a bunch of songs filled with energy and melody.

Recovering the spirit of punk 80's bands, Bad Taste from the isle of Mallorca surprised us with their songs, that we released as a tape. For fans of early Dischord bands (SOA, Teen Idles,...) and Boston bands like Jerry's kids, FU's, Negative FX,...) or japanese hardcore, a prove that there were also interesting bands in the archipielago.

After Corn Flakes, these two bands were the most important melodic hardcore groups of the early 90's in Barcelona. Innocents kept the speed of their demo but turned their music into a more melodic sound close to Dag Nasty, 7 Seconds or Descendents. Penguin Village's music lost speed to highlight melody, and they wrote wonderful pop punk tunes in the vein of Green Day, Samiam or Leatherface.

The festivals featuring the label's bands have been a BCore trademark since this period, in which took place the double edition of the "Invasion of the hardcore crew". Recorded live by Xavi Navarro, you'll find songs by 24 ideas, Carry Out, Innocents, Childhood and Penguin Village.

One of the best and more underrated Finnish bands from the begginning of the 90's. With a couple of singles and an LP, BCore had the honour to release this three-track single with these great songs. Fast and melodic old-school hardcore that you're still on time to discover as it is still available.

This single plus their demo and other stuff would be included in the future in the postumous "Discografía completa" CD.

Innocents' blood brothers, Penguin Village sounded some less aggressive than their friends and a little more melodic and moody. More similar to early Samiam than to Dag Nasty, their popularity increased since this debut tape, as well as the cartoon series "Dr. Slump" from which they took the name of the band.

There was also good melodic hardcore outside Barcelona in the early nineties. From Oviedo, the Soonflowers put their songs into this demo, very influenced for what was happening here with Corn Flakes. Everyday more interesting bands around Spain were raising their heads.

After Corn Flakes, Innocents were, with Penguin Village, the main characters of the second generation of melodic hardcore bands in Barcelona. Close to the early Dag Nasty, their songs seduced an audience that still hadn't been influenced by the commercial success of this style to come in the close future.

Trip Inside was the first spanish band from outside Barcelona that BCore released. Their debut contained punk rock songs close to Jawbreaker and sung in spanish. From Zaragoza, the quartet had the chance to play with such bands as Victims family or Fugazi, being the main band from the Zaragoza area at the time.

This is the farewell record from the swedish band Identity. Following the line of their previous singles, this vinyl contains a bunch of songs plaid in less than 30 minutes, with a frantic yet melodic beat. Another classic from BCore early nineties period.

Getting aside of the most strong and intolerant part of the Straight Edge movement, Crucial Youth made a joke off their band, with lyrics at the edge of the politically correct. Irony and sense of humour apart, their hardcore is highly recommendable, and nowadays it's a true classic. The songs were recorded during their european '89 tour, featuring a cover of Agnostic Front's "Power".

Solo project of Peter Svedenhammar (Raped Teenagers, Identity, and now with Chickenpox). More melodic than Identity, letting aside the punk/hardcore origins to get closer to indie-rock, thsese 6 tracks will put you in motion. Between Raped teenagers, Corn Flakes and Descendents.

Identity is the band that formed Peter Svedenhammar after Raped Teenagers (one of the most classical swedish hardcore bands, known worldwide). 5 songs of pure melodic hardcore, fast and direct. For fans of Snuff, Corn Flakes,... This was the first international reference of BCore, which being release number 2 meant a true declaration of principles.

First reference ever by BCore Disc, and, in fact, the album that made the label start, with no intention to become a real label but just pretending to release the songs of a young band that was starting to have a small name in the seminal Barcleona hardcore scene. The band's first songs were fresh, melodic and rageful, showing their love for All and The Descendents.
